Adult Ballet training for all skill levels

Whether you are new to dance or a studio veteran, we have the right classes for you.  We offer the following classes weekly for adults ages 18 and older.

Beginner/Advanced Beginner Ballet with Vija Kemanis, Cesar Ortiz and Nicole Zadra
Ballet basics in a positive, encouraging environment. Vija, Cesar and Nicole guide the class with full demonstration and detailed verbal cues. Class starts with gentle stretches, followed by barre and center exercises building technique, strength, flexibility, and memory. Musicality, lyricism, and expressiveness are integral to movement.

Adv. Beginner Repertoire Ballet with Rosemary Saur
At this level the basic ballet steps are mostly understood but will be repeated if necessary. We begin with a 50 minute barre , then move on to the center work which consists of group repertoire variations.  Training exercises will be given to aid the learning process of any difficult or unknown steps.
In addition to learning repertoire from well known ballets or Rosemary’s own choreography, dancers will also have a unique opportunity to perform in the Scarsdale Ballet Studio spring recital in June.
Adult Recital rehearsals with Rosemary Saur
For 30 minutes following the Beginner Ballet class, Rosemary will teach pointe technique.  Additional $10.

Intermediate and Advanced Ballet with Fronda Sobel and Justin Sherwood
A challenging class for the experienced ballet dancer. Class time is divided evenly between barre and center exercises. A gradual, complete warmup at the barre enforces proper alignment, strength, flexibility, memory, and musical precision. At center, combinations are built on the dancer’s expanded vocabulary, technique, musicality, and expressiveness. We welcome back people who have been away from the technique for a while, plus participants who want to dance for pleasure while improving their present technique.
Adult Pointe with Justin Sherwood
For 30 minutes following his Intermediate Ballet class, Justin will teach pointe technique.  Additional $10.
