Ballet Podiatry with Dr. Naeemah Ruffin

We are excited to announce a new partnership with Dr. Naeemah Ruffin, founder of Ballet Podiatry, offering exclusive pre-pointe assessments, injury prevention tips, and personalized foot care services for our students. This service, the first of its kind in Westchester, is designed to support healthy and long-term ballet training.

Dr. Ruffin created Ballet Podiatry to educate and treat ballet dancers of all ages on how to increase strength and flexibility, prevent and manage injuries, and to enable dancers to become the dancers they have always dreamed of becoming.

Ballet Podiatry will provide the Scarsdale Ballet Students with pre-pointe assessments (includes a biomechanical exam), non-surgical injury treatment, orthotics fittings, footwear recommendations, educational workshops on basic dancer anatomy and nutrition, injury prevention, basic foot and ankle care, older adult dancer series, pre-pointe interactive series, and custom home training programs. These services will be rolled out at the Scarsdale Ballet Studio over the next several months beginning with offering pre-pointe assessments. Dr. Ruffin is excited to work with Director Rosemary Saur and the Scarsdale Ballet Studio’s faculty and students. Dr. Ruffin is also a life-long lover of ballet and has taken classes throughout her life, and is currently an adult student at SBS.

Dr. Ruffin is a Board-Certified New York Podiatrist, and a former Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She completed her surgical residency and chief residency training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science, American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, American Podiatric Medical Association, and the New York State Podiatric Medical Association.
